Craig Cash

Craig Cash is an English comedy actor, BAFTA award-winning writer and also a director. His best known works include the television shows The Royle Family, The Fast Show, The Mrs Merton Show, two series of Early Doors, Sunshine and most recently The Cafe.
He co-wrote the BBC sitcom Early Doors and founded the independent production company, Jelly Legs, which produced recent Royle Family specials, The New Sofa and the Goldon Egg Cup, as well as Sunshine. In 2011 Cash directed all six episodes of The Cafe, a show written by and starring his Royle Family co-star Ralf Little.
Craig’s most successful project to date, The Royle Family, which he co-wrote and produced with Caroline Aherne, has run for three series on the BBC.  This has been credited with breaking the mould of UK TV sitcoms becoming one of BBC’s most successful comedy programmes of all time, scooping two BAFTA’s for the second series and numerous other industry awards.  Most recently, The Royle Family Series 3 was nominated for BAFTA in the category of best Situation Comedy in 2000.  In both 1999 and 2000 The Royle Family Christmas Specialswere screened top of the bill, BBC1 Christmas day.  The Royle Family Series 1, 2 and 3 are available on video and DVD (all series videos having sold more than 500,000 copies each already).
