John is regularly invited to perform at festivals across the globe, including all across Europe, Australia and New Zealand and is a favourite of corporate and live bookers nationwide. In addition to his stand-up success John has a flourishing on-screen career having graced the likes of; ‘Mock The Week (BBC Two), ‘Live From the BBC’ – Headliner (BBCThree) ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ (BBCThree), ‘Live At The Comedy Store’, ‘Russell Howard’s Stand-Up Central’ (Both Comedy Central), ‘Extra Gear’ (BBC), ‘Drunk History’ (Comedy Central) and ‘Alan Davies As Yet Untitled’ (Dave) amongst others and is a sought after writer for both television and radio with credits including; ‘Stand Up For The Week’, ‘The Last Leg’, ‘Nevermind The Buzzcocks’ (all Channel 4) and ‘The Russell Howard Hour’ for Comedy Central.
Alongside his stand-up, television and writing talents, John is also co-host of Radio X’s Chortle Award Winning Weekend Show with fellow comic Elis James. The show has gained cult status for their beta male badinage, unproduceable riffing and willingness to discuss mental health (AKA The Darkness) with an upbeat, lyrical voice. Late 2016 saw the duo complete a hugely successful national tour; ‘The Elis James & John Robins Experience’, selling out The Shepherd’s Bush Empire within minutes. John has a busy year ahead, he’s set to appear on the Christmas Special of ‘Live At The Apollo’ (BBC Two), has a number of television and writing projects in development and will take his award-winning solo show, ‘The Darkness of Robins’ on tour nationwide, next spring.
